Branch Program Frequently Asked Questions

 

Q. How do I qualify to be a PacWest Branch Operator?

A. You simply fill out the PacWest Branch Operator application included in this packet. This application is then followed up with a personal interview with PacWest's General Manager. The entire approval process can be completed in 2-4 business days. If approved, you could be generating new loans at your branch within a week.

 

Q. If I qualify to be a PacWest Branch Operator, will I originate all my loans through PacWest?

A. One of the benefits to the PacWest Branch Operators Program is that you will originate all of your loans through PacWest, whether through our Banking Division or brokering. By originating all loans thru PacWest, you will alleviate the need to be approved through brokers or bankers on your own, saving you time, hassle, liability and money.

 

Q. What would my branch be called?

A. You will be able to use your existing company name or create a new one. Your name will operate as an assumed business name of PacWest Funding, Inc. Your clients will know you by your company name just like they do now.

 

Q. Would I own my own company or be an employee of PacWest Funding, Inc.?

A. To comply with state and federal regulations and fully benefit from the PacWest Branch Operator Program, you will be an employee of PacWest Funding, Inc., as will any other originators or staff working in your branch. However, you retain control of your equipment, furnishings and business name. If you have other originators working at your branch, you determine their compensation plan.

 

Q. Could PacWest market my clients now or in the future?

A. No. Your clients are your clients. PacWest will in no way solicit business or give out information about your clients.

 

Q. What type of origination software will I use?

A. Point Calyx.

 

Q. Who will process my loans?

A. You can either have your own processor at your branch, process the loans yourself or PacWest will process your loans for a per-file fee listed on the PacWest Branch Operator Compensation Schedule attached. The choice is yours.

 

Q. How do I get paid?

A. PacWest will issue you a check monthly for all loans funded. Additionally, there is a mid month draw available. To take advantage of all the deductions possible, PacWest will reimburse you pre-tax for any legitimate business expenses each month. Your branch will receive 100% of the income generated less the expenses outlined in your PacWest Branch Operator Agreement. Q. Does PacWest pay the originators and other employees working under my PacWest branch?

A. Yes. PacWest takes care of the entire payroll and compensation splits per your instructions. This eliminates the need for you to retain a bookkeeper or payroll processing company.

 

Q. How are my business expenses handled?

A. PacWest will pay your submitted personal business expenses in the form of a monthly pre-tax reimbursement. These are for your own personal business expenses, not branch related expenses which are the responsibility of PacWest.

 

Q. What about credit report and appraisal fees?

A. PacWest will arrange to have an account set up for you through Kroll/Factual Data credit reporting company. At the time of loan application, clients should pay for their credit report fees, appraisal fees and any other loan related fees. Any fees not collected from the client will be the originator’s responsibility.

 

Q. Will my clients and others in the industry know me as my own business or identify me as a branch of PacWest?

A. You will be identified by the public as your own branch using your current assumed business name. It is only in the behind the scenes back office functions where your affiliation as a PacWest branch ever appears.

 

Q. What are the fees to be a PacWest branch?

A. The entire compensation plan is summarized on the Branch Operator Compensation Schedule attached.

 

Q. How long does it take to be up and running as a PacWest branch?

A. Once PacWest receives your Branch Operator application, the review process takes 2-4 days. This allows approved applicants to be originating loans with PacWest in less than a week.
